Cheerapunji locally named as Shora is lies on the heart of Meghalaya .Situated on the 4,500 feet above the sea level it is nestled in the lap of the Khasi hills on the north-eastern region of India. This small town once secured its name on Guinness Book of World Record as the wettest place on Earth, but later on this title has been taken away by its nearest place Mawsynram. It is the place that now receives the highest rainfall in a year and is one of the best places to visit in Meghalaya. Mawsynram offers some natural abundant and rich flora and fauna. The place where the fresh lush green landscape is covered with the dwelling of cloud, it is also advised to the travelers that visiting this place during the winter season would be great but visiting this place during the monsoon can ruin your trip.

Dwaki is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Meghalaya. The River serves as a great attraction in this place the flawless clear water of the river attracts most of the tourists. Dwaki is open for the overall year for travelers but the best time to visit Dwaki is in the summer and winter seasons from November to May.

Cheerapunji Double decker Root Bridge is another name for this bridge which is located in one of the wettest places on earth. Double Decker Bridge Is one of the most famous in Meghalaya and is one of the popular tourist attractions. The size of the bridge is 3km and the Umishiang River flows under the bridge.

Mawsami cave in Shillong is another fascinating place to visit. It is 150 meters deep but the cave are said to be even deeper, but tourist can only access up to the 150 meters. Seven sister waterfall is situated in Mawsmai Village, This fall is the fourth highest plunge waterfall in India. Nestle in the Eastern Khasi District of Meghalaya. It is the cluster of seven different waterfalls adjacent to each other. The waters plummet down the treacherous limestone cliffs of Khasi Hills, and into a cavernous valley. The rising and setting sun bathe the surrounding in a soothing golden hue, and the crystal streak of water glistens with glory. This place is a paradise for shutterbugs, with its picture-perfect surroundings, and stretches of lush greenery.
